Summary of Teen Wilderness, Field Biology and Natural History of Idaho & Alaska

Just a Few Words from One of Our Founders:

“We believe that the best way to learn biology and geology is to observe it in nature. Above all our camps are fun but also give the teens experience in the sciences that most would only get in graduate school. Our students sample, test, and document how the biomes change within the season, between the seasons, and over the years. Over the years, our students have had the opportunity to observe vastly different biomes from the Death Valley Desert, Redwood Forests of the Coastal Mountains, Mining Camps of the Western Sierras, Temperate Forests of the Western Cascades, even the mountains and farm lands of Western China. This year our students will have the opportunity go deep into NE Idaho Panhandle by packtrain then in to the Alaskan Interior by bush plane and have the opportunity to do this over the changing seasons with mentors that have lived what they teach for a lifetime.

I believe that this year’s camps are the best we have ever offered and like our other camps the teens will remember their summer for a lifetime.

These camps have ample free time for the teens to pursue fly fishing, nature photography and drawing, and more. The Alaskan Bush camp is limited to 5 teens and Idaho packtrain camp is limited in size to 8 campers; offline registration open. Online registration coming soon!

Thank you” – Toni King Co-Founder Northwestern Outdoor Leadership Institute
